Many people choose marine grade teak guard products to protect their teak table. The newest products are non-organic and form a temporary bond with the upper layer of the wood. This protective barrier helps prevent mold growth by robbing mold spores of their food source, i.e., the naturally deteriorating teak oils at the surface combined with repetitive moisture. (Prior to applying any teak wood treatment, clean thoroughly with Murphy's Oil Soap and/or a mild solution of special marine bleach, designed to kill mold spores).  You can then apply teak oil to refinish your table.
